Results in our first year:
In August 2005, DSST received some very exciting news which confirmed much of what we believed about our students. Our founding class of 9th grade students was the highest scoring 9th grade class in math in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) and the second highest performing in reading and writing on the CSAP (Colorado Student Assessment Program) test.
Results in our second year:
For the second year in a row, DSST students’ performance on the CSAP proved that hard work pays off. As the chart below illustrates, our students out-performed students in Denver Public Schools (DPS) and students across the state of Colorado.
DSST was the only school to earn a “significant improvement” rating on year-to-year student achievement growth. Our 10th graders were the highest scoring math class in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) and the 5th highest statewide. Our 10th graders were the 2nd highest in writing in the DPS and 21st highest statewide. Our 9th graders have scored as one of the top two math classes in the DPS for two years
